Dear Green Gables Families,

Welcome back! We hope this letter finds you well-rested and filled with excitement as we begin a new school year. Whether you are a returning family or joining our community for the first time, we extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to each and every one of you.

As we embark on the start of our new school year together, I want to take a moment to share my deep commitment to our students and families. As I begin my 16th year as an educator and as a mother of three, I understand how crucial it is for our students and families to feel safe, connected, and a true sense of belonging at school.

I am passionate about the work we do at Green Gables Elementary to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. A place where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As we step into the new academic year, my dedication to this mission remains steadfast, and I am eager to continue serving as the leader of Green Gables.

Together with our exceptional team of educators, staff, and the wider community, we will strive to make this academic year one of growth, curiosity, and endless possibilities for each and every student. Our commitment to Jeffco Thrives 2025 remains unwavering, and we are focused on providing extraordinary student experiences and instructional excellence for all.

We will continue to utilize our EL resource for literacy instruction, which has shown tremendous success in nurturing students' love for reading and writing while integrating science and social studies. This innovative approach prepares our young minds to be critical thinkers and effective communicators. Additionally, throughout the past two years staff has dedicated substantial time engaging in Orton Gillingham training to continue to deepen their instructional toolbox in teaching foundational literacy skills, anchored to the science of reading.

Furthermore, as part of the second Jeffco cohort for Illustrative Math, we eagerly embrace a new resource aligned with best mathematical practices and standards. Our staff is eager to dive into our new resource and nurture a love of mathematics in our students.

Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome our full day preschool program to Green Gables. We look forward to the opportunity to watch our youngest learners grow and thrive!

Throughout the spring, our staff engaged in a reflective process to build clarity on the true essence of our motto, "Leading, Learning, and Growing Together." As a result, we have crafted a mission and vision that will anchor our work and guide us in creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Mission

Green Gables is a collaborative and responsive community that is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environment.

Vision

Through high expectations, we empower all students with the academic and social skills to succeed, develop meaningful relationships, and contribute to a better world.

Our mission and vision reflect our core values of collaboration, inclusivity, and nurturing the holistic growth of every student. We firmly believe that by working together, we can create an educational experience that empowers our students to reach their fullest potential and make a positive impact on the world around them.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve this remarkable community as your school leader. The dedication and support from our families, educators, and staff inspire me each day, and I eagerly anticipate the moments of celebration and growth that this school year will undoubtedly bring.

If you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am here to listen, collaborate, and ensure that we create the best possible learning experience for our students.

Once again, welcome back to Green Gables Elementary, where we embrace a shared vision of excellence and compassion. Let us embrace this new school year with enthusiasm and determination, knowing that together, we will achieve great things!
